We have made it into South Carolina!

Into the Lowcountry to be more exact. Lowcountry is the name given to the region of South Carolina's southern coastal counties. It is also home to the Gullah people who are African American descendants of the slaves brought to this region before the civil war. This should make for some very unique exploring and tasting of the local cuisine.

We are staying at Hunting Island State Park, which is home to the only publicly accessible lighthouse in South Carolina. You just know we are going to have to climb that!
