I consider our previous site at Davis Bayou the best bargain of our entire trip. For just $11.00 a night we had water and electric, great bathrooms and awesome showers, and a free dump station. Add in a grocery and hardware store just outside of the park's entrance gate and we were all set, but after eight nights it was time to move on.

With the overnight temperatures still in the 30Fs and 40Fs I'm glad we are still traveling mostly west and haven't started our trek to the Northeast just yet.

Just around the corner from the car wash was a Kroger Supermarket. Last summer we had visited a few Kroger stores and remember them as having good prices and fresh produce. Here the prices were still good, but in a word, the produce sucked! Maybe we were shopping the day before their fresh produce arrives, but I was hard pressed to find a single green pepper to use in the chili I'm planning on making tomorrow. The green onions and cilantro wasn't much better. Guess we'll just have to make due with what we they offered.
This brings us to our campfire. If you have visited our bucket list pages you'll know that one thing we try to achieve in every state we visit is to enjoy at least one nighttime campfire. Well our Mississippi campfire was one of the best so far, not because the fire was so awesome (but it was), not because the temperatures were perfect (they were, low 60's), but because it seems that Mississippi if full of amateur musicians. Not one, not two, but three campsites within earshot had guitars and harmonica music with small groups of people singing along to tunes from The Eagles, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan. They were still at it when our campfire died down around 9:00PM, that's what made it so memorable!

After checking them all out it seems the best one is the one we used already and that one is barely acceptable. Guess THE POD will have to wait for it's bath until the next location. You may be wondering why we don't wash the trailer at our campsite? Most all campgrounds have a rule about washing trailers on site, first off they don't want you using all their water and they don't want all the harsh soapy mess on the ground for the next camper to deal with, I understand their position on these rules.
One other thing I did today was to fill up ROVER with gasoline for the move on Monday.

It's a fairly simple task when our TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) is working properly. Get out the small monitor and turn it on, wait 5-10 minutes for all of the tire's Bluetooth sensors to start reporting, and adjust whatever is out of tolerance. Lately the system works well when we are not moving, but once we are on the road the tires seem to have a problem staying connected. I'm considering buying an amplifier for the Bluetooth signal to help fix that issue, I guess another call into tech support is in order.
