We have recently been receiving several phone calls and text messages from friends and family concerned for our safety due to the path of Hurricane Florence and our present location.
Tomorrow at noon, Thursday September 13, Shenandoah National Park is closing until further notice. All campgrounds must be empty and Skyline Drive entrances will no longer allow entry into the park. Therefore we have already secured a campsite in the valley below at Luray KOA Campground. We can safely ride out what ever remnants of the hurricane reach this far inland and then return to our plans to complete Skyline Drive and venture into The Blue Ridge Parkway next week.
We thank you all for your concern and rest assure we will be fine!
