So this morning I plotted our moving day to take us down a 45-mile section of "The Natchez Trace Parkway".
We stopped in the small town of Ackerman (pop. 1594) to grab a few needed groceries about 10-minutes before arriving at our destination, the Choctaw Lake Recreation Area in the Tombigbee National Forest.
After leveling up THE POD we didn't even disconnect from ROVER because we have no plans to go any farther than our feet will take us for the next 3-days.
but that's why we purchased our Starlink Satellite System for just such a predicament.
WEDNESDAY - After two days of not doing much at all, Tricia finally got out of THE POD and took a walk in the park, literally.
This is a small campground to begin with, it only has 21 sites, plus 3 picnic pavillions you can rent. The first 12 sites are FCFS and the other 9 sites can be reserved online, as well as the 3 pavillions.
Even as small as it is, there are only about 7 or 8 sites being occupied so it's very quiet here.
A WALK IN THE PARK

There is a second, much smaller unnamed lake near the campground.
This wide canal once probably connected them together, but now now.
Looking across the lake from the campground you can see the long elevated boardwalk.
This boardwalk leads over to the swimming beach and picnic/day use area.

Looking back towards the campground.

A couple of campers enjoying the lakeshore views.

With all the trees we're having difficulties with our Starlink connection.
The first of three pavillions for rent (or just use them when they're empty).
With that large fireplace I'll bet they're even used in the winter time.|
