TWO PEAS AND THE POD: BACK AT SPRING BRANCH

TRAVEL DAY
YEAR #3 - STOP #11

We have once again returned to Spring Branch RV Park for a short three night stay. We had scheduled a mobile detailing business to come and wash/wax THE POD on Friday morning. After camping 17 days on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico we knew there would be lots of salt and sand all over the trailer, inside and out, that would need to be removed ASAP.

FRIDAY - With perfect timing Bill Murray, our favorite solar installer, showed up just as the detailing of THE POD was wrapping up. He is here for two reasons. First is to replace the dented Magnum inverter cover that was delivered the first time with a new undented one. Secondly, we promised to treat him to a lunch/dinner at his favorite place to eat after the install was done.

Keep in mind that we are in the heart of Texas Hill Country here where BBQ Brisket is king. I thought for sure we would be eating BBQ for lunch today but Bill chose to eat at a local Hole-In-The-Wall as he described it. Josie's Kitchen is a true locals eatery. You order your food while standing on the edge of the gravel parking lot and then find a table, inside or outside, to wait for your food.

While waiting for our food order to be made we sipped our Fresh Brewed Ice Tea and Fresh Squeezed Lemonade, both come with free refills. It was a little bit of a wait for our food, it was quite busy, but it was well worth it.

Tricia ordered one of her favorites, a Cuban Sandwich with a side of Cole Slaw. Bill and I ordered off of the Daily Specials menu and selected the Sloppy Jersey Sandwich with a side of Chips and Salsa. Everything was fresh and delicious! It was also relatively inexpensive, thanks Bill!

SATURDAY - Today is our last full day at Spring Branch RV Park and we've got some chores to take care of. For Tricia it's laundry. For $1.50 wash and a $1.50 dry we had to take advantage of this inexpensive laundry opportunity here.

For me it's finishing up a project I've been putting off for too long now. The problem is when we want to use our cell booster, which is most of the time, we have to pass the antenna wire through a window screen to get it inside to hook up to the booster. Not an ideal situation!

My solution is to remove the tail lights from one of the bezels and drill a hole in the bottom to mount the antennae connection. Then behind the bezel drill a hole through the outer and inner walls of the trailer to pass the cable through. It's this last part I've been hesitant to do! But after watching Bill drills holes all over the place in the roof and floor to install the solar equipment I figured what's a few more holes gonna hurt?

So today, on Leap Day 2020, I took a Leap of Faith and drilled a 1/2 inch hole clear through our home on wheels!
