We were arrived here on a Thursday afternoon and by Friday night the campground was nearly full to capacity with family's camping in tents and smaller campers. By Sunday at 4:00PM there were only 3 occupied campsites and we are all older retired couples. It was nice to have the campground nearly to ourselves.

TRAVEL DAY |
Today travels was a little bit longer than our average tow. Most of the first 100 miles today was spent on the Interstate Highways of Kentucky, unusual for us, but I have an explanation. When I mapped out our route I knew that the last 35 miles were going to be a little bit tough, two lane winding mountain roads and most likely a lot of semitrucks, it's the best north/south road in the area.
I was correct in my assumption, but what I couldn't predict on a map was that the last 15 miles were going to be like driving a 7.5 ton rollercoaster at 45MPH. I'm glad that when we leave here we are going out on a different route to the east.

SIGHTSEEING DAY |
It's only a half mile down the road to the waterfalls from the campground, but it's almost straight down. That means if you want to walk down you'll also have to walk back up, not for me!
We drove down to the waterfalls, gave the gift shop the once over, then walked down the rocky path to the falls overlooks. It was definitely worth the trouble to get here, it's about the only reason to come here. After viewing the falls I drove Tricia back up the mountain so she could get some work done and it was time for me to once again head into town for some groceries.
