One year ago today on Friday the 13th of April, 2018 we took delivery of a brand new fully grown Airstream. It was a boy and already had the name Tommy Bahama, but we quickly renamed him THE POD so he would feel special and not like all the other Tommy Bahama Airstreams being delivered all over the United States.
We took him home to Broward County, FL and gave him a comfortable spot to spend his first month with us. After that first month we decided he was ready to take us on the road and see all there is to see. Now here it is his FIRST BIRTHDAY and he has already traveled 6,825 miles and spent the night in 70 different campsites in 12 of our United States.
He has kept us safe from the sun, rain, wind, freezing temperatures and even one night of snow. We leave him behind in the campground while we go visit all kinds of interesting and awesome places. Not once has he complained or let us down, but he does and a few minor dings from a battle he had with one of our shade canopies during a wind storm. The shade canopy lost that battle and we got rid of it the next day.
We like having THE POD around and plan on spending many more years with him in our lives!
