CORONADO CAMPGROUND (NM)

MONDAY - Coronado Campground was the perfect place for us to stay the night before we headed into the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta two weeks ago.

It's only 12-miles north of the Fiesta and just off Interstate 25. Their Overflow Parking Area is only $18 a night and it comes with flush toilets, unlimited hot water showers (desperately needed), no trees to block our solar panels and a FREE dump station with a fresh water fill.

It turns out to be the perfect place for us to stay after the Fiesta too. There is a desperately needed laundromat 1-mile down the road and a great place to eat just outside the gate.

Winston and VerJean must have also thought this was a good place to stay because they decided to join us here too.

This turned out so much better than our original plans to head to a "no frills" BLM campground south of Albuquerque. With the government shutdown still ongoing the campground is closed and our reservation cancelled. Oddly enough, we have to wait until the government is back in business before we'll receive our refund.

We have just enough fresh water left to last us 2-nights here and plenty of room in our waste tanks. We will however make use of the dump station when we leave.

After our 2-nights here at Coronado Campground we'll be moving south to a New Mexico State Park for a week with a chance to visit another National Monument property, if they're open!

Not one single photo! How about that?

Well almost, but not one single balloon?
